An Eclectic Modern Wedding on the California Coast

K&S wed at Timber Cove Resort in Jenner, along the coastline of the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by their family, friends, and of course, their flower girl, and dog of honor, Margot.

K&S got married on the lower lawn overlooking the ocean, with whales breaching in the distance as their guests enjoyed the beautiful sea breeze. Close friends of the couple strummed along on guitar, playing covers of some of the couple’s favorite songs, to greet guests as they made their way down to the ceremony lawn.

Our couple described their dream wedding as “Large sense of scale that celebrates the views. Monumentality that incorporates natural materials in the area like the redwood trees and stone in the water.”

The color scheme was came to life by our couples vision of “Clean lines with splashes of color throughout while staying within a cohesive color palette. Earthy tones that blend in with the natural surroundings of Timber Cove. Darker greens like forest and Hunter that contrast well with a burnt orange / umber kind of color. Dotted with more neutral tints like cream, sage or bluer greens.”

Guests were invited to dine on the North Deck as the sun went down, the stars came out, and the ocean waves crashed off in the distance. K&S were engulfed in so much love with their closest people, over a delicious meal and flowing fine wine.

We loved working closely with our couple on the design details for this one, incorporating different patterns, textures, colors, and mediums. We had wood, stoneware, linen, rock and marble – highlighting the groom’s love for different natural elements. We had 2 different place settings, bringing a funky and eclectic mix to their design, tying it all together. Bonus – our place cards were custom stone pieces that doubled as a paperweight for our menus on the windy deck!

and now, we party. Time to rage on!

Inside the lodge, guests danced the night away, with a fun 20 minute “circle pit” moment, honoring the couple’s teenage years, that was so special to them and their friends, while they moved to some of their favorite throwback songs by New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and more.
